ATSF SD39u 1574, following GP60M 153 is part of the power on this freight trainapproaching Mojave, CA in April 1991. The SD39 is a 6 axle 2500hp locomotive, of which only 50 were built. Santa Fe rebuilt all 20 units in 1986 and renumbered them from 4000-4019 to 1556-1575. For BNSF they have been renumbered to numbers in the 600 range.
