ATSF SD75M 205 is the lead unit of an interesting power consist. The second unit is one of Santa Fe's SD45-2B units, the 5501 and the third unit is FP45 90 (the original FP45 100 - the "class" locomotive). This intermodal is at Abo, New Mexico in October 1995. The FP45 since has been donated to Oklahoma Rail Museum in Oklahoma City. Upon retirement from BNSF, the 5501 was rebuilt with a wide cab by MPI (formerly Morrison-Knudsen) to the MK5000 "SD50M-3" and is now a lease locomotive, the MPEX 5000. The 205 entered service about six months before this photo was made. In 1998 it was renumbered to the BNSF 8205 (it retained its "Santa Fe" lettering).
