ATSF SD40-2 5090 is westbound at Bena, CA after descending the Tehachapi grade in April 1993. The locomotive consist is made up of 5 different locomotive types. UP 6052 is an SD60, while 5259 is a rebuilt ex-Amtrak SDF40-2 cowl unit. The two final units are a C30-7 and an SD45 (or SD45u - arebuilt SD45). They probably needed more power somewhere farther up the San Joaquin valley.
