ATSF C40-9W 830 along with another C40-9W head up the branch line to the York Canyon, NM coal mine in October 1995. This train is a small extra and not the usual York Canyon train with 6 units. At this date the C40-9W's were still relatively new although the C44-9W's were also in service. This branch line was originally the Southern Pacific (El Paso & SW) line to the mines at Dawson, NM.
