BN 9209 near Reno Jct. in the Powder River basin on July 8, 2005.

BN "Whiteface" SD60M 9209 leads BNSF SD75M (ex ATSF) 8221, BNSF SD70MAC 9444 and "Oakway" SD60 9063 near Reno Junction, heading toward the Black Thunder mine on July 18, 2005. BN 9209 still looks good after over 15 years in service (January 1990) and still was an "unpatched" BN locomotive. This sort of "rainbow" power consist was often seen on Powder River basin consists. After this train picks up its loads, it will head to Sheridan, WY, where we photographed it on the following day as it headed north to Montana.
