BNSF 4076 and UP 7373 pull toward East Logan, WY on July 1, 2005.

BNSF C449-W 4076 and Union Pacific C6044AC 7073 pull their loaded coal train toward East Logan, WY in the Powder River Basin, WY on July 1, 2005. The Union Pacific locomotive is a 4400hp AC unit which is "convertible" if desired to a 6000hp unit. Since the 4400hp units have proven to be workhorses while the 6000hp units have had problems, these units will probably remain in their 4400hp configuration. The 7073 was scheduled to be renumbered to 7399. Interesting that the 7073's number boards have black on white lettering (as on older units years ago) as opposed today's standard white on black
