BNSF 528 near Flagstaff, AZ on March 24, 2012

BNSF B40-8W 528 follows GP60M 117 just east of Flagstaff, AZ on March 24, 2012. The 528 looks all of its 21+ years old, unlike many of its fellow B40-8W's and GP60M's such as the 117 which have been repainted into BNSF livery. Perhaps its departure from the roster is imminent and its next owner will have to repaint it. Meanwhile it looks like the end of the special "warbonnet" era. Warbonnet units are becoming rarer as they either are repainted or move on to other railroads.
