BNSF B40-9W 538 is the final unit on the returning San Jacinto turn as it heads to Barstow over Cajon Pass on October 29, 2008. The San Jacinto branch is limited to 4 axle power which this day includes B40-9W'S 538, 529 and on the point 528, along with GP60B 332 in the latest "standard unit" heritage paint scheme, along with GP60 8701. The Union Pacific drag freight on the Palmdale cutoff is powered by the 5396, 5402 and the 2351.
