BNSF 5408 crosses the Colorado river at Topock, CA-AZ

BNSF 5397 is the first unit of a rainbow colored power consist. Its orange color is badly faded compared to the third unit which has the same Heritage II paint scheme. This train is rounding the big curve near the top of the grade out of the Rio Puerco valley and will soon be on the straight line to Dalies, NM on August 20, 2007. The second unit, FURX 8095, was recently acquired by the Wisconsin Southern from NRE in Illinois (10/2011). The third and fourth units, C40-9W's 896 and 876 were both originally AT&SF warbonnets. 896 was repainted, while 876's paint is getting tired. The final unit is SD60 EMDX 9007, one of one hundred "Oakway" units which were originally leased by BN under a unique lease in which BN paid only when the units were actually running ("Power by the Hour").
