CNW SD40-2 6840 leads an ATSF manifest eastbound toward Woodbine, IA on a July 1993 evening. Severe flooding in the midwest had closed down the Santa Fe transcon and trains were being detoured to the Overland Route. This clogged up the single track (formerly double tracked) CNW main between Missouri Valley and West Denison, IA. Needless to say the re-double tracking of this segment occurred promptly after the UP-CNW merger.
