Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad's 487 is returning light to Chama on September 27, 2005 after taking on water at the Cresco tank. The fall foliage is peaking in this area.The railroad passes through a tiny slice of Archuleta county, Colorado just before re-entering New Mexico for the last time on its way to Chama. 487 was the lead engine on a double header up the grade to Cumbres. At Cumbres it left the train and turned on the Wye.
