The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge RR's Presidential Special on August 27, 2005 approaching Rockwood, CO on the ledge near Lake Shalona. The locomotive is number 472 painted in 1930's livery. The "472" is actually the 478. The original 472 went to the White Pass & Yukon RR in World War II and was scrapped upon its return to the US. The D&RGW inspected it in Salt Lake and felt it was too worn out. So, here is a re-creation of the 472 done specially for RailFest 2005.
