VMV (ex Southern) SD45 3155 takes part in some power juggling at Edison, CA in December 1988. At that time, SP had helper and extra head end power on various sidings on the way to Caliente and the Tehachapi grade. Power hungry SP leased several ex Southern high nosed VMV SD45's from Helm leasing. These units had the long hood designated "front" and thus had the bell high on the end of the long hood.
