WP&Y 114 sits at Carcross, YT with a work train on August 18, 2012.

White Pass & Yukon MLW DL535W 114 sits at the end of operable track at Carcross, YT, with a work train, on August 18, 2012. The 114 was the last unit of a 4 diesel order which was finished in 1982. The 114 had been shipped to Alaska when the closure of a mine which was the railroad's main customer forced the immediate shutdown of the railroad. Two of the other three units went to the US Gypsum narrow gauge in Plaster City, CA. One of these was wrecked and the remaining unit was sent there also. With the WP&Y's reopening, the 114 went to work, but on September 3, 2006 the 114 derailed near Bennet while leading a work train. One employee was killed in the derailment. The 114 was rebuilt by CEECO in Washington state and returned to work the following year.
