Southern Pacific 4449 arrives at Mojave, CA on Monday, May 8, 1989. The special train was on the way home from Los Angeles and from here would proceed over Tehachapi, albeit with a helper on the point as protection power because of a warm bearing which the locomotive had on it's way up Cajon Pass. This view gives a good look at the Daylight color scheme.
