GECX AC4400CW 4000 (later UP 7000) at the Black Thunder Mine in Wyoming in July, 2000.

GECX AC4400CW 4000 along with Union Pacific SD9043MAC 8107 and CNW AC4400CW 8830 with the Operation Lifesaver paint scheme are ready to leave the Black Thunder coal mine staging tracks in the Powder River basin just east of Reno Jct. on a beautiful July 2000 afternoon. The GECX unit provided warranty protection to the Union Pacific. It was later purchased by the Union Pacific and became the UP 7000.
