25 years ago, in April 1980, Union Pacific U30C 2924 leads SD40-2's CNW 6929 and Conrail 6468 east through North Platte, NE. In 1980 the U30C's and the newer C30-7's were Union Pacific's only GE power. The 2924 was delivered in July 1976 and retired and sold for scrap in October 1988.
