Union Pacific SD40-2's 3228 and 3908 are shoving a grain train up the grade near Oxman, OR in August 1993. Manned helper sets were common in this area prior to the use of distributed power. The 3908 was originally Missouri Pacific SD40-2C (built to BN specs. for coal service) 6008 and was renumbered to UP 3908 as it was rebuilt by VMV in 1988 after 1 1987 wreck.
