Union Pacific SD60M 6229 leads its "Hamtrak" train at Boyd, NV in the Meadow Valley Wash in April 1993. The cut of stock cars at the front of the train contains hogs for the John Morrell company in California. The hogs have made the trip from the midwest and will be hosed down outside of Las Vegas, NV. When these shipments occurred the train was a very hot train as they had to get the hogs to California in good condition. Sometime in the mid-90's these shipments ceased, although the Gunderson triple deck stock cars were relatively new at the time.
